Emma ‘Solid’ Blake is a DJ and producer who, originally from Glasgow, now plays a prominent role in the bustling electronic music scene emerging from Copenhagen. Having first appeared as a producer at Glasgow’s highly influential freeform radio station Subcity Radio, after moving to Denmark Blake quietly built a glowing reputation among the underground techno community in Copenhagen as part of renowned DJ collective Apeiron Crew.

Never one to restrict herself, she’s embarked on a journey as a solo artist, turning her hand to production and adopting the moniker ‘Solid Blake’ – a playful nod to the lead character Snake from video game classic Metal Gear Solid. She continues to build on the style and reputation nurtured by her earlier proejcts in her solo production work, her own sound dipping regularly into the grittier recesses of techno and electro, with healthy servings of acid.

Emma ‘Solid’ Blake is een DJ en producer die, oorspronkelijk afkomstig uit Glasgow, nu een prominente rol speelt in de bruisende scene van elektronische muziek die uit Kopenhagen is ontstaan. Na eerst als producer te zijn verschenen op Glasgow’s zeer invloedrijke freeform-radiostation Subcity Radio, bouwde Blake na haar verhuizing naar Denemarken stil een gloeiende reputatie op bij de underground technocommunity in Kopenhagen als onderdeel van het gerenommeerde DJ-collectief Apeiron Crew.

Blake is niet iemand die zichzelf beperkt, dus begon aan een solo-reis en richtte haar handen op de productie en adopteerde de naam ‘Solid Blake‘ – een speelse knipoog naar het hoofdpersonage Snake uit het klassieke Metal Gear Solid. Ze bouwt voort op de stijl en reputatie van haar eerdere projecten in haar solo-productiewerk, waarbij haar eigen geluid regelmatig dompelt in de groenere uithoeken van techno en electro, met gezonde porties zuur.
